My name is Ed. I am an American English language voice actor. My background is in commercial and non-commercial radio broadcasting.
Voiceover began as a necessity for me over 15 years ago while living overseas. I needed a viable means to obtain my work permit and residency card in my country of residence in the Middle East.
Everything I was hearing on the few English language radio stations was in British English. I thought at the time that there MUST be a niche for doing voice work in North American (USA) English. I produced a demo CD and visited 20 audio-visual studios in our city seeking opportunities for doing English (USA) voiceover work. I received regular work from five of those studios over the course of six years.
Voiceover work not only provided me my work permit and residency card during those years, but also extra income for my family. What started out as a necessary “hobby” has turned into a long-term passion of mine. I enjoy being behind the microphone and serving clients with voiceover recordings that are professionally recorded and delivered on time every time.
Every voice actor sets their own rate. All of our talents are pros, but the cost can vary depending on their experience and skill level.
Generally speaking, voice over rates depend on:
- Will the voice over be for broadcast and paid ads, or organic, non-promotional use?
- The length of the script (word count).
- Do you need the voice over fully edited and production-ready, or just the raw audio?
- Do you want to direct the voice artist in real-time, or can they record independently?
Many of our voice actors follow our pricing schedule, but you’ll find that rates are negotiable, so if you let them know what you can afford, there’s a good chance they’ll accommodate you!
