Overview

Voice over, Theatre, Film, TV and Radio in Canada and the USA. Nationally syndicated on the Rock Radio Network, and the signature voice of Hurgada Radio of Egypt, the voice of North Americas Miffy and typecast as the Bad Apple in Veggie tales.
Cyd is the voice of the USA’s Department of Homeland Security online training tutorials , and most recently the voice of The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation AGM…again.
Client satisfaction translates to personal satisfaction!
Whether it’s medical or pharmaceutical copy, documentaries, station imaging or commercials, I’ll lift your copy off the page and make your client stand out from the crowd!
If you have a moment to look at my experience it will give you an entertaining ( I hope ) idea of what I can do for you.
Pretty dry…but accurate…and it took me most of the day to come up with it. But seriously, I love what I do and a variety of clients allows my creativity to run wild so it’s always a challenge. Which is the main reason I do what I do. I strive to get it right the first time in the fastest turnaround possible. Talking to a producer and feedback from a client improves my skills as a voice talent so I’m always available for suggestions and direction. (phone patch)

FAQ

Question: How much does it cost to book this voice actor?

Every voice actor sets their own rate. All of our talents are pros, but the cost can vary depending on their experience and skill level.

Generally speaking, voice over rates depend on:

  • Will the voice over be for broadcast and paid ads, or organic, non-promotional use?
  • The length of the script (word count).
  • Do you need the voice over fully edited and production-ready, or just the raw audio?
  • Do you want to direct the voice artist in real-time, or can they record independently?

Many of our voice actors follow our pricing schedule, but you’ll find that rates are negotiable, so if you let them know what you can afford, there’s a good chance they’ll accommodate you!

Question: How quickly can I receive the voice recording?

Every voice talent works to get your recording back as quickly as possible. Turnaround time often depends on:

  • The talent’s availability and workload.
  • How long the script is.
  • Whether there are technical or difficult-to-pronounce words in the text.

The sooner you hire, the faster you’ll get it! Some offer a 3-hour turnaround for urgent requests.

To get quotes quickly, we suggest posting a project or getting quotes from 15-20 voice actors who might be a great fit for your project.

The more you choose, the faster you’ll get quotes in your inbox.

Question: Where does the voice actor record my script?

All our voice actors record in their professional broadcast-quality home studios using high-end microphones.

We pre-screen each individual voice talent to make sure they can produce audio that is 100% pristine!

Since they will be representing your brand, the sound quality directly impacts your business’s image—so you deserve the best, especially for recordings meant to last for years!

Question: Can the voice actor record my script to help me make a decision?

Yes!

When filling out the quote request, you’ll have the option to upload or paste your script.

This will trigger an option to ask the voice actor to record a part of it, so you can get a feel for the final delivery:

Question: Can I listen in and direct the voice actor during the recording in real-time?

Yes!

Once the project is funded, you can schedule the session with the voice actor and offer real-time direction, so you get your voice recording exactly how you want it!

Question: What if I need to make some fixes or add changes in the script?

In most cases, voice actors won’t charge for pickups if they make a mistake. Small script changes after the recording may also be free, as long as they’re reasonable and not major.

Just keep in mind that each actor has their own policy, so it’s best to clarify this upfront.

Question: What if I need an additional recording after the project has been completed?

If you need another script recorded for a completed project, you can agree on a price with the voice actor and then click the “Add more funds” option under their proposal:

This option is also available mid-project if the scope changes and you need additional recordings before releasing your payment to the voice actor:

Question: Can the voice talent split the recording into separate files or sync it with my video?

In most cases, the voice actor can split the recording into separate files and deliver them in formats like WAV, AIF, mp3, or others.

They should also be able to sync their voice to your video.

If not, feel free to reach out to us, and we’ll gladly assist!

Question: Can I get help with adding background music and mixing it with the voice-over?

Absolutely!

We have our very own royalty-free music catalog you can use to find the perfect piece of music for your project.

Once you buy music from our site, we can professionally mix it with your voice-over and even sync it with your video, so you’ll get the final product without having to ask your video editor.

Get in touch with us, tell us what you need, and we’ll be happy to take care of it.

Question: Do I get full rights to the voice recording? What’s the licensing agreement like?

Non-broadcast voice-overs, such as phone messages, YouTube clips, e-learning, audiobooks, and personal projects, typically come with a buyout in perpetuity.

This means you own the recording for any non-promotional use forever, with no extra fees.

Broadcast recordings, and/or ones used in paid advertising for TV, radio, or internet commercials, are licensed for a specific time period starting from when they’re first used, as defined in your quote request.

The usage time will be noted in your invoice.
