HI! I’m Joanna, I’m a professional voice actor from Toronto, Canada.
My voice is warm, rich and resonant- I’ve been told it sounds like a glass of red wine. I’m eloquent and conversational, but also have a really goofy side! I looove making people laugh.
My accent is pretty neutral North American, I don’t have any strong “Canadianisms”. I’m currently taking a course to improve my modern British RP, I’ll keep you posted on my progress 🙂
I really enjoy what I do, and I think that comes across, not only in my reads, but also during sessions. I show up on time, take direction extremely well and, I’m easy going and flexible. Oh, and I’m also great at pronouncing complicated (and uncomplicated) words.
I have a regular client in China for whom I’ve recorded literally thousands of corporate narrations. Part of that job requires me to convincingly pronounce a lot of Chinese.
I have a degree in music, my main instrument is saxophone. I’m also a jazz singer. I’ve spent the last nearly 20 years teaching instrumental music to middle schoolers.
For me, voice acting started as a side gig about 6 years ago. My experience as a singer has very much informed my approach to voiceovers. I’m now happily moving towards making voice over my main gig.
Although I’m in my 50’s, I sound anywhere from 35-50 (I still look 50 though…)
My hobbies are travel, hiking and learning new things.
Many of our voice actors follow our pricing schedule, but you'll find that rates are negotiable, so if you let them know what you can afford, there's a good chance they'll accommodate you!
